The widespread application of adhesives in the home appliance industry
In recent years, Adhesives are being used more and more widely as auxiliary materials in home appliance production. This is mainly due to the continuous development of the home appliance industry and the increasingly high requirements for the appearance and functionality of home appliances. The reasonable application of adhesives can not only meet the needs of product design, but also significantly improve enterprise production efficiency and reduce comprehensive costs.
Adhesives, as products used for bonding and sealing, complement ordinary mechanical connection methods. With the continuous improvement of the quality of home appliance products in recent years, some high-performance silicone, anaerobic adhesives, and polyurethane products have been increasingly used in home appliance products.

Adhesives have a wide range of applications in home appliance production, mainly manifested in:
✔ Bonding and sealing of various plastic and metal parts in washing machine production require polyurethane or hot melt adhesive;
✔ To prevent bolt loosening, washing machines or air conditioners use anaerobic thread locking adhesive for locking, reducing the use of gaskets; using anaerobic pipe thread sealant instead of raw material tape in water heater pipelines can achieve a more reliable sealing effect;
✔ High-temperature silicone rubber is used in the bonding and sealing work of microwave ovens, electric ovens, range hoods, and other kitchen appliances.
✔ In order to improve the appearance and reduce the number of threaded holes, the overall appearance of some products also adopts adhesive bonding.
With the use of new structures and new materials in the design and production of home appliance products, the demand for adhesives is becoming increasingly diversified. In the process of home appliance production and manufacturing, the selection of adhesives needs to consider multiple factors such as product use conditions, assembly conditions, and production costs, which puts higher demands on the performance of various adhesives.
Different curing speed adhesive products can be selected according to different working conditions. For example, if the bonding of parts in a certain production process needs to be transferred to the next process after 20 seconds, the initial curing time must also reach at least 20 seconds, otherwise it will affect production efficiency. However, if some assembly processes require a longer interval, too fast initial curing time of the adhesive will affect the bonding effect. If the initial curing or surface drying time is 15-20 minutes according to the assembly requirements, then another type of adhesive is needed to complete this work.

In addition, different bonding materials require different adhesives, especially the use of new materials in home appliance products in recent years has also put forward new requirements for the bonding effect of adhesives.
For example, polycarbonate , although both belong to PC, the different surface properties exhibited require different adhesives, and how to reliably bond different materials together will also be a direction that adhesives need to consider in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to select suitable adhesive products for specific working conditions. Compared with hot melt adhesives and solvent adhesives, reactive adhesives can better cope with more complex assembly requirements.
Reactive adhesives are adhesives whose curing process involves a chemical reaction , such as the most common instant adhesive, which is a moisture-curing reactive adhesive. Its curing speed can be adjusted by changing its own reactants to meet the requirements of different working conditions.
